Saturday 8th October 2005, Shropshire, 4.30pm.

We have just picked up the Wolf from Mike Robson. I must tell you a little about Mike, I have also devoted a small section to him on this web site. A more noble Gentleman would be hard to find in this day and age. Mike owns and resides on a Farm in Shropshire, where he and his family look after livestock including Sheep, Horses and of course Ducks!

He is a fanatical enthusiast of the Camel Trophy, so much so that he has built and stocked a Museum of Camel Trophy and Expedition vehicles. Right from the very start, Mike has been so helpful and friendly, he really has made this part of the trip a pleasant and informative one. Although Mike is not physically selling us the Wolf, he is assisting us with the purchase from a friend of his who owns two Camel Trophy vehicles and the Wolf. Apparently they were bought with the intention of starting a Land Rover Experience centre, but things have changed, affording me the opportunity to buy one of the lowest mileage 300TDi Wolves on the market.

We have had a wonderful day after driving to Bath the night before with friends Alex and Yasmin. And although the heavens opened for a torrential downpour causing us to be a little late, we made it in time to have a good look round the Wolf in the daylight and get a chance for Mike to show us some of the Wolfs more unusual features.

After a little adjustment to the left hand drive aspect, I am starting to appreciate the simplicity of the vehicle.
